The Pharmacy and Poisons Regulations set out the validity period and renewal requirements for licences. Licence holders are responsible for proactively and promptly renewing their licences to maintain their lawful operating status.

📕 Risk notice
The greatest risk is “forgetting to renew”. This may sound unbelievable, but it can happen amid busy business operations. Once your licence expires without renewal, you must immediately cease all licensed activities. Reactivating the licence may require a process more complicated than a normal renewal and may even require a new on-site inspection. This can seriously disrupt and damage your business.
